Exploring Ketamine and MDMA with eating disorders

AAPi’s Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy (PAP) Interest Group hosts Ariana Elias as the presenter for their next webinar.

In this session, Ariana will discuss: 
- The use of Ketamine and MDMA for the treatment of severe and enduring eating disorders
- What she has observed and is thinking about with patients receiving Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
- What she has observed and is thinking about with patients using MDMA
- Challenges with KAP and MDMA, and
- Hopes for the future with KAP and MDMA

About our presenter:  Ariana Elias
Since commencing clinical practice in 2002, Ariana Elias has worked within the field of body image and eating disorders in a variety of community and specialist services, in both the public and private sector. In 2015, Ariana developed Raising Body Confident Kids, a body image prevention program for parents and primary school-aged children and in 2021, Ariana founded Tikvah Clinic creating a specialised eating disorder multidisciplinary outpatient clinic, providing patients and their families supportive, holistic, individualised and innovative treatments.   

More recently Ariana completed her training with the Ketamine Training Centre and offers Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) to individuals with difficult to treat depression and eating disorders. She has also completed Psychedelic Assisted Therapy training and provides novel medicines to individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), treatment resistant depression (TRD) and eating disorders.

Ariana is a credentialed Eating Disorder Practitioner, a trauma informed therapist, has completed clinical training in a wide range of therapy approaches and has full psychology registration with clinical endorsement.
