The use of unaltered CBT with ADHD adults is often experienced as invalidating and not neuroaffirming, leaving clients feeling shamed and deficient. Despite this, CBT is the only endorsed evidence-based modality for supporting adults with ADHD in the current AADPA Guidelines.
Dr Claire Milligan proposes a different approach: using Internal Family Systems, a therapeutic approach that is non-pathologising and works with neurodivergent brains rather than against them. In this webinar, Claire will cover:
- Current therapeutic recommendations for Adult ADHD and the issues with these
- An introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- IFS & ADHD
Key take aways:
- Current recommended psychological approaches for adult ADHD
- Issues with CBT for ADHD
- How IFS can help Adults with ADHD
