Cyber risk and your practice

This session will give psychologists a practical, plain-language understanding of the cyber security obligations involved in using digital platforms in clinical practice. 

Attendees will learn:

  • What cyber insurers actually require from practitioners, and what can void coverage
  • How to assess whether your practice management software meets minimum security standards
  • The important distinction between a platform's hosting provider being certified versus the platform itself holding certification
  • What TGA registration, ISO 27001, and the Essential Eight mean for the digital tools you use daily.

The session complements recent AAPi webinars by shifting the focus from AI adoption to the security and insurance implications of the platforms psychologists already rely on. Suitable for psychologists at all career stages.

About our presenter: Marika Conomos

Marika Conomos is a registered psychologist, clinic owner, and the Founder and CEO of Ecko Health - a digital mental health platform built to solve the real-world problems she encountered over more than 13 years of owning and operating psychology clinics. Her experience spans direct clinical practice, workforce management, compliance, and the day-to-day operational challenges that come with running multidisciplinary mental health teams.
