The College for Educational and Clinical Art Therapy (CECAT) run online Introductions, Certificate and Diploma courses with face-to-face Intensives in all major cities in Australia.

Have you ever wondered what art therapy and the work with the unconscious is all about?
Are you curious about how to use it effectively as a psychologist?
You don’t need any artistic skills or a master’s degree in art therapy to become a great art therapist in Australia.  Here is your chance to do one of the three course options on offer:

1. The 2-Day on-campus Introductory Intensive.
2. The Certificate Bundle, which consists of the online Certificate Course (10 modules) plus the 5-Day on-campus Certificate Intensive
3. The Diploma Bundle, which consists of the online Diploma Course (5 modules) plus the 3-Day on-campus Diploma Intensive.

The Introductory Intensive provides you with the foundation for studying art therapy and an in-depth experience of the processes involved. It is preferable that you attend an Introductory Intensive before enrolling in further courses with CECAT, but many students get started with the online Certificate Course (10 modules), then attend the Introductory Intensive at some stage during their self-study and finally, finish the Certificate Course by participating in the 5-Day Certificate Intensive. This is the recommended pathway for the student seeking a comprehensive education.

Students who have completed the Certificate Course are then eligible to enroll in the Diploma Course, which consists of the online studies (5 modules) and the 3-Day Diploma Intensive. As a general guideline, most students take about 1-2 years before they reach the Diploma level.

Certificate Course (Online Studies Plus 5-Day Intensive)
$4,400 for online course material plus 5-day program
You are required to complete 10 online modules before attending one of the following Intensives:

16-20 March 2022 (Sydney)
11-15 June 2022 (Adelaide)
20-24 August 2022 (Newcastle)
10-14 September 2022 (Melbourne)
12-16 October 2022 (Brisbane)

Once you have done all the modules of the Certificate Course, you are eligible to further your studies at the Diploma level.

Diploma Course (Online Studies Plus 3-Day Intensive)
$2,200 for online course material plus 3-day program
You are required to complete 5 online modules before attending one of the following Intensives:

1-3 April 2022 (Melbourne)
16-18 May 2022 (Brisbane)
27-29 July 2022 (Sydney)
